I practice with the philosophy that I can never stop developing in my skills to achieve better individualized care. I employ a diverse array of therapies from gentle low force to straight adjustments. I have many tools at my disposal and work hard to find the right combination of care for each individual patient. I believe in helping patients fully understand their care and giving them the tools to keep progressing toward their wellness. I love what I do. The body's ability to heal itself never stops amazing me. Being able to facilitate the healing process and assisting patients to better understand how their body works is what I enjoy most about my work.
Working with athletes has brought a whole other side to my practice. Repairing the body from repetitive and traumatic injuries in sports requires a special set of skills. Knowing how to treat and heal an active person is important to get the best result. Understanding the mechanisms of injury of an athlete and the incentive an athlete has to get back out and perform is crucial. I use a proactive approach and concentrate on active care, aggressively addressing the condition balanced with proper healing. I want the patient to get moving as soon as possible in order to get back to doing what they want to do.
Additional care that I provide includes functional medicine dealing with metabolic disorders to assist with weight management, cholesterol and sugar levels such as diabetes. The use of the word function is the key. We are measuring through blood, urine, saliva, hair analysis and in our office, muscle response testing to determine the function, health and ability of specific organs and systems to carry out their jobs as perfectly as possible. These snapshots of physiology tell the practitioner where the patient's health is presently, giving the basis to determine what specific actions are needed to accomplish maximum improvement and what nutritional support is required. We do not want to wait until there is dis-ease or a diagnosed disease to implement treatment. The standard of Medical Care is to diagnose a disease and treat the disease, or in many cases, the symptoms of the the disease to relieve pain and suffering. Our aim is to prevent the disease!
With extensive nutrition experience I can offer many solutions for health improvement. Food is medicine and the right nutrients can help bring a person's health to an optimal state. When combined with chiropractic care, helping the nervous system operate correctly and allow the brain to regulate the functions of the body. Good nutrition gives the body the materials it needs to build your body.
Wellness is not a silver bullet. It's a process that requires patient participation along with healthcare providers. As a wellness practitioner I hope I can be your partner to get well and stay well. Together with information and maintenance we can achieve a long, quality-filled life for you.
